Developing a community organic farming business

This research study aims at developing a community business of organic agriculture. The three sample areas of study are the CLC & CBT (Community Learning Center and Community Base Tourism) Ban Klong 3  at Klong 3 Sub-district, Klong Luang District, Pathumthani province, the Ban Klong Ha community enterprise of GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) products, Klong 5 Sub-district, Klong Luang District, Pathumthani province, and the Klong 6 COLC (Community Occupational Learning Center) at Klong 6 Sub-district, Klong Luang District, Pathumthani province. According to the local people's objectives of making extra income, the research in developing the first area is to encourage them to make Ecair sweet from local eggs for sale by wholesale and retail. The result is they can increase income approximately by THB 10,000 per month. Since Ban Klong Ha already has a local plantation of Thai curry paste ingredients such as chili, shallot, and garlic, the community further develops a new product, which is the green curry paste. Thus they have more products to sell. The development at Klong 6 COLC, in particular, is a chiffon cake made by using under selling-grade Bhutanese mushrooms, so the community gets an extra income of average THB 2,000 per month.
