THE FATHER’S CHARACTER IMAGE OF CHRONICLE OF A BLOOD MERCHANT

Abstract

By telling the sad story of a common Chinese life in the beginning of People’s Republic of China’s founding to the reform and opening up, CHRONICLE OF A BLOOD MERCHANT sings highly praise of the great father Xu Sanguan. When studying this work, not so many people pay attention to the relationship between Xu Sanguan and his children; so I decide to study this problem. In my study, I will focus on the relationship between Xu Sanguan and his oldest son Xu Yile. Through the study, we can see the great love of Xu Sanguan being a father!
