Abstract

             This article focuses on female military profession and women’s role in Thai army during 1942 to 1957.This study was conducted by using primary evidence from various ministries regarding Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and women’s role, including other associated articles and dissertations.


             The results revealed that female military profession and women’s role in Thai army during 1942 to 1957 has changes from the situation and the national policy by Field Marshal Plaek Pibulsongkram. So, the goals that promoting women’s role and improving women to participate in society. At that time, the Second World War beginning that impact to make the policy of nation needs to unity and strength of people all genders and ages have courage and patriotism. One of the national policies is female military profession that creates a strong image of women and the end of the period of Field Marshal Plaek Pibulsongkram. Later, female military profession returned to their roles and development of roles to suitable for status of women. However, the establishment of female military profession to increase people in army as the great power. So, the role of female military profession is incomplete and unnecessary. Afterward, female military profession changes to suitable roles such as teacher, doctors, nurses. However, changes in the women’s role in Thai army that is part of leadership policies, situation, capability, necessity, and suitability.
