Abstract
This short research paper entitled “Foreign Policy during the Reign of King Prajadhipok: The Case of the King’s Visit to Indochina in 1930” features a major theme in Siam’s foreign relations during that time, namely the country’s role on the world arena as a consequence of it being a founding member of the League of Nations. The League membership resulted in a change in its role, especially in it having an “identity” in world affairs. The paper attaches particular importance to the role of King Prajadhipok and Queen Rambhai Barni as representing “Siam’s brand ambassadors” in developing and strengthening the country’s diplomatic relations during their state visits. This was Siam’s most successful diplomatic pursuit.
