Church Names in Chiang Mai Province: Word Compositions for Naming Reflecting Protestant Christian Identity

Abstract
This research article aim to study the characteristics of naming church names reflecting the identity of Protestant Christians in Chiang Mai Province. The results found that the characteristics of the composition of words in naming churches have 3 sources of words used: 1) The origin of the church name, 1 source, was found that the name of the place was used as the name of the church the most, followed by the use of words from the main mission of Christians and the name of persons in the Bible as the name of the church last. 2) The origin of the church name, was found that there were 2 sources of naming characteristics, the most found was the use of the name of the place along with words from the main mission of Christians, followed by the use of names of persons in the Bible along with the name of the place, and the last was the use of words from the name of the place along with the name of the church affiliation. 3) The origin of the church name, which has 3 sources of naming characteristics, was found that the name of the church affiliation along with the name of ethnic groups and the name of the place was used as the name of the church the most, followed by the use of words from the name of the place along with words from the main mission of Christians and the name of the church affiliation, and the last was the use of words from the main mission of Christians along with words from the name of the place and words from the name of persons in the Bible. It was established as the name of a Protestant church in Chiang Mai Province. The three characteristics of the word composition reflect the Christian identity in terms of the main mission, the names of people in the Bible and the Christian affiliation.
