Influence of Islamic Principles Communication via Social Media towards Health Literacy on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention

Abstract
This research was aimed to study the communication of Islamic principles via social media towards health literacy on adolescent pregnancy prevention among female adolescents who were the members of ‘Waisai Hangklai Zina’ Fanpage. The data collection was conducted by participating observation and the questionnaire on health literacy on adolescent pregnancy prevention posted for three months on the Facebook Fanpage. 333 out of 1,748 members were the samples who completed the online questionnaire.
The findings showed that communication patterns via the channel including topics, language use, access, emotional expression, comments, and sharing were related to knowledge and understanding of adolescent pregnancy prevention of the members. This study suggested that stakeholders should be aware of the use of proper communication patterns for adolescents in promoting health literacy on adolescent pregnancy prevention.
