Abstract

                  Discourse of The Otherness of Thai Bhikkuni in Thai Society had objectives to study the creation of a form of crowding and blocking, and to study the practices of discourse to create the otherness to the role of Bhikkuni. This research is a qualitative research by criticism method. The key informants were 38 persons who were 34 persons locally and 4 persons from Sri Lanka, data were collected and analyzed by synthesizing according to research purposes.

                  The findings indicated that the formation of Bhikkuni held up since the Lord Buddha era as one of the Buddhist four companies under the guidance of the Lord Buddha in the dissemination and preservation of Buddhism. But in the presence of Bhikkuni in Thailand have been crowded, blocked  subjected to various  discourse. The concept of male dominance and patriarchy in the form of using the power of Maha Thera Association and the Office of National Buddhism to provide the otherness to Bhikkuni is to issue regulations banning the ordination of Bhikkuni in Thailand.

                   Recommendations to the research presented in this study is to eliminate the otherness of Thai Bhikuni by certification that Bhikkuni are comparable to monk as one of the Buddhist four companies as well by the Maha Thera Association and the Office of National Buddhism. They must edit rules allowing for the ordination as Bhikkuni by setting fair rules Kurudhamma 8 to vet the people who will be ordained as a Bhikkuni. In doing so, this will make the state of the Bhikkuni certify as a monk and priest, as well as a demonstration of the recognition of human rights and women's rights Maha Thera Association and the Office of National Buddhism as well. The action is in line with the principles of the Buddha there. Buddhists and four companies in the dissemination and preservation of Buddhism to progress further.
