Abstract

Jasmine Revolution or the greatest mass uprising to overthrow the long-lasting repressive regime of Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, one of the biggest news pieces in December 2010, was the most important phenomenon of the early 21st century. This revolution challenged worldwide authoritarian regimes after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It also inspired many people and affected mass uprising of neighboring countries such as Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Bahrain, and Syria. In this paper, the author illustrates the background of this great revolution and analyses it theoretically at the end of the article.
