POLITICAL PARTICIPATION THE AIR FORCE OFFICER OF ROYAL THAI AIR FORCE BAND YOTHIN AIR COMMAND UNIT

Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the level of political participation of air force officers at the Royal Thai Air Force Band, the RTAF Security Forces Command. The sample of this study consisted of 195 air force officers under the Royal Thai Air Force Band, the RTAF Security Forces Command, comprising of  sub-divisions: RTAF Division, RTAF Music Division, Flight Technical Division, Service Division, and Royal Thai Air Force School of Music. The instruments included the questionnaire, related researches and academic journals. Data was analyzed through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple classification analysis.

The results of this study showed that overall political participation of sample air force officers at the Royal Thai Air Force Band, the RTAF Security Forces Command was at low level. The aspect with the highest level of political participation among the sample was political attention, followed by favorite politician, political issues discussion, persuading others to elect the candidates supported, political rally, political campaign, and political participation, etc. When personal factors were compared, it was found that education level and work status influenced the sample’s opinions towards the political participation, accepting the hypothesis, meanwhile marital status, age, and monthly income rejected the hypothesis.
