THE INSTITUTION OF PHEU THAI PARTY

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the development of the political institutionalization of the Pheu Thai Party, which includes the Thai Ruk Thai Party and Palang Prachachon Party. In order to analyze the institutionalization of the Pheu Thai Party, This study samples People live in the county Bangkok Metropolis Nonthaburi Pathum Thani Samutprakarn and Samut Sakhon Province The sample consisted of 10,765,226 samples from Taro Yamane (Charnchai Jitrongporn, 2557.) 400 samples. Methods used include surveys and analysis of documents, prior research publications, and the writings of Samuel P. Huntington. According to Huntington’s theory, factors influencing institutionalization can be divided into five aspects: scope of support, adaptability complexity, autonomy, and coherence.  With respect to the five levels, the results of the study show that: (1) For scope of support, the Thai Ruk Thai Party, Phue Thai Party, and Palang Prachachon Party were greatly supported by the people; (2) For adaptability, the Thai Rak Thai Party, Pheu Thai Party, and Palungpachachon Party were able to adapt to change political conditions, economic crisis, and social crisis very well; (3) For complexity, the Thai Ruk Thai Party, Phue Thai Party, and Palang Prachachon Party were fairly complex. (4) For autonomy, the Thai Ruk Thai Party, Phue Thai Party, and Palang Prachachon Party did not have a sufficient level of independence; (5) For coherence, the Thai Ruk Thai Party, Phue Thai Party, and Palang Prachachon Party were rather unstable. They encountered four main problems. The first was military sanctions; the second was state laws regarding political parties; the third was parties’ sources of funding; the fourth was the tendency of people to follow individual politicians rather than believing in the party’s ideals.
