Abstract

The purposes of this research were; 1) to study overall factors affecting sustainability of private vocational schools; 2) to design a causal model of factors affecting the sustainability of private vocational schools; and 3) to examine the causal model of factors affecting the sustainability of private vocational schools. The sample consisted of 353 administrators of private vocational schools. The questionnaire was exploited as a tool for this research and the empirical data was subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis. The validation of the concordance of the model as well as empirical data were examined. The results of the study revealed that; 1) The factors affecting sustainability of private vocational schools consists of four latent variables and thirty observable variables. 2)The causal model of factors affecting sustainability of private vocational schools were leadership, management innovation, and teacher performance, with positive direct affected. In addition, a teacher performance had greater directly affected towards the sustainability of private vocational schools than leadership and management innovation, while leadership affected teacher performance indicating negative indirect affected. And 3) The analysis of the concordance of casual model of factors affecting the sustainability of private vocational schools indicated that the model was consistent with the empirical data at acceptable level, with Chi-Square = 292.417, df = 261, P-value = 0.088, RMSEA = 0.018, GFI = 0.949, AGFI = 0.908. Additionally, the Chi-Square and the degree of freedom were 1.120, less than 2.
