A STUDY ON COST REDUCTION APPROACHES FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CLEAR PLASTIC BOTTLED LEMON JUICE

A CASE STUDY OF LIME HOUSE COMPANY

Abstract

Nowadays Lime House Co., Ltd is a manufacturer of bottled lemon juice in Pathumthani Province. This company was used as a case study in this research. The company was facing with the problem of production process cost reduction because the production cost was high preventing the company from having good turnover. The turnover each month was not satisfactory. From a study the production of clear plastic bottled lemon juice, it was found that the machine inputting water was not operating properly causing lemon juice to splash or overflow from bottled. From such problem, the researcher a study on cost reduction approaches for the production of clear plastic bottled lemon juice. A fishbone diagram was applied to analyze the cause of the production process problem to specify a solution. Moreover, there was also a work operation standard. The result from the correction could be used as a guideline in cost reduction of the production process benefiting the company and other business places facing similar problems which they could apply.
