Proactive activity-based learning to improve reading achievements in thai language of grade 5 students

Abstract

This research aims to 1) compare reading comprehension achievements in Thai language before and after the activity-based learning of grade 5 students and 2) to study the satisfaction of the reading comprehension in the Thai language of grade 5 students participating in Activity- BasedLearning. 21 students in grade 5 at Jirada school, Banh Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi province were participated in this research in Semester 2, Academic year 2021. Research instruments are Activity- Based Learning Plans for Thai reading comprehension, achievement test for Thai reading comprehension, and satisfaction test on teaching and learning of Thai reading comprehension using Activity-Based Learning.

The results showed that:

1) Reading achievement after using Activity-Based Learning was higher than before. The average mean before participating Activity Based Learning are 11.62 (58.10%) and after participating are 16 (80%) respectively.

2) The students are very satisfied with Activity-Based Learning, with the average mean 4.48.
