THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WORK MOTIVATION AND ORGANIZATION COMMITMENT OF CABIN CREW AT NORWEGIAN AIR SHUTTLE (THAILAND)

Abstract

          This research aims to study in level of work motivation, level of organization commitment and the relationship between work motivation and organization commitment of cabin crew at Norwegian Air Shuttle (Thailand). The research is used questionnaire for collecting information from 120 cabin crew at Norwegian Air Shuttle (Thailand). The statistics for analyzing data are frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent samples (t-Test), one way analysis of variance (One way ANOVA), multiple comparison (LSD) and regression analysis. The research results revealed that the most of the sample group is female with the age of between 30-40 years, single status, graduated in Bachelor's degree, salary more than 60,000 Thai Baht, Cabin Crew Member rank (CCM) and 4-5 years of work experience at Norwegian Air Shuttle (Thailand). The employees had high level of overall work motivation (Motivation factors and Hygiene factors). When considering each aspect, the highest motivation is responsibility, followed by work itself, work achievement, interpersonal relationship, recognition, working environment, job security, organization’s policy and management, salary and benefits, job advancement. Moreover, it revealed that the employee had high level of organization commitment .When considering each aspect, the highest organization commitment is the confidence towards the organization and accepting the goal and value of the organization, followed by the willingness to maintain their membership of the organization and the willingness to devote their working efforts to the organization. The difference of organization commitment by personal factors, revealed the employee with the difference of gender, age, marital status, salary and work experience had the same level of organization commitment. However, the result reveled education level and working position influenced the level of organization commitment. Finally, the overall work motivation has relationship with the organization commitment. When considering each aspect, the responsibility, job advancement, interpersonal relationship, working environment and job security are positive correlations. But the work achievement, recognition, work itself, organization’s policy and management, salary and benefits have no relationship with the organization commitment at statistical significance of .05 level.
