Abstract

The purpose of this research were to 1) develop lesson plan through brain based learning with mind mapping and 2) study the mathematics learning achievements after studying through brain based learning with mind mapping in grade 6 students to the criterion of 70%. The sample used in the study consisted of 33 grade 6 students from 5 schools were Bankoknoi school, Banku school, Bannadonbok school, Banhongchangnoi school, and Banthonghlangnoi school the second semester of academic year 2015 Nakhonratchasima Primary Educational Service Area Office 6. They were selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments used in this research were : 1) a 9-lesson plan sum 16 hours using brain based learning with mind mapping, and 2) a 30 item, with 4 answer choices per question, achievement test mathematics grade 6 students with a difficulty value of 0.21-0.79, a discrimination value of 0.38-0.88, and a reliability value of 0.88. The statistics used to analyze the data were Indexes of Item – Objective Congruence, and One Sample t-test.

The findings were as follows :

1) Plan through brain based learning with mind mapping analyzed by using the index of item – objective congruence showed a value as 0.87. The model is effective and can be used in instruction.

2) The students’ mathematics learning achievements after using the brain based learning with mind mapping averaged 22.64 from a possible full score of 30 which was statistically higher than the set criterion of 70% at the 0.05 level of significance.
