Abstract

The aims of this research 1) To study the need for sustainable tourism development training for local government organizations in the eastern provinces. 2) To propose guidelines sustainable tourism development training methods for local government organizations in the eastern provinces. This is a mixed method research, questionnaire as an instrument to collect data from 130 samples with the personnel in local government organizations in the eastern provinces (Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat) and in-depth interview with the executives are involved in the training of tourism in the eastern provinces. The results of this research found that the overall of personnel were females, Age was between 31-40 years old. Bachelor's Degree, Salary was between 15,001-20,000 baht, Duration of employment were 11 years, and never training experience. The component of training required, Technical training were focuses on the trainees. Place of training were out of town. Training time were during Monday-Friday. Trainers were outside the organization. Evaluating training were pre-test and post-test. The content of training required, the tittle was the role of local government organizations in sustainable tourism development, In the topic was Tourism safety.

Guidelines for Training Sustainable Tourism Development for Local Government Administration in the Eastern Province. Technical training includes Lectures, Demonstrations and Field Trip. In the appropriate training include, the trainers have specialized knowledge and induce trainees. Place of training can be arranged in the province or out of town that study visit. Training time were during May-June and three days at the latest depending on curriculum. Evaluating training were pre-test and post-test and follow-up.
