THE ATTITUDE OF YOUTH IN THE THREE SOUTHERN BORDER AREAS WHO’S PARTICIPATING IN THE THAI CHILDREN'S PROJECT (RTAF)

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the approach and the platform for developing positive attitudes, habits and ideals, which were solely for the purpose of creating a harmonious nationalism in Thailand, a multi-cultural society country. The approach was obtained from the Thai children’s Woven Heart Project organized by the Royal Thai Air Force which was performed by selecting 180 children from five schools in Pattani, one of the southern provinces in Thailand.

The Royal Thai Air Force arrange the aforementioned project in conjunction with other organizations to provide knowledge and experiences of how to live in the multi-cultural society, developing teamwork with other people and more importantly learning from the King Rama IX’s works.  The project consists of outdoor classes and dissolving behavior activities instructed by human resource personals from private companies.

The results shown that the children participated in this project changed their attitude and behavior significantly. They also learnt to recognize other opinions as well as developed the will to rectify the current social conflict. These positive outcomes were displayed in their school and community as observed by the teachers and their parents.  Ideology.
