THE CREATIVE TOURISM OF TAMBOL THUMRONG, BAANLAD DISTRICT, PHETCHABURI

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study creative tourism potential of Thumbol Thumrong, 2) evaluate creative components of tourism destination of Thumbol Thumrong, 3) prepare document to promote tourism path. The mixed method was employed in this study. In-depth analysis were used as a tool to collect data from six government officials and community representatives. The questionnaire was used to collect data from 400 tourists.

The result found that there are four potential destination in Thumbol Thumrong: 1)Uncle Thanom's Palm garden where there are a large number of palm trees, 2) Crushing toddy palm group or Baan Yee Tanod or Baan Looktalthongkongkaew is community group that produce local dessert called Kanom Tal or Toddy Palm cake, 3) Basketry group or Baan Juksaan is a community group which make souvenir from palm tree, and 4) Luang Poh Dum Cave is a cave where there is 800 years Dhavaravadee buddha statue. The evaluation of tourism destination show that tourists' satisfaction toward tourism activities were 1) they were satisfied with activities at Baankongkaew at highest level, 2) at  Uncle Thanom's Palm garden, tourists were satisfied with the view of the garden at the highest level, 3) they were satisfied with the facilities and signs   that clearly indicate the destination.
