ECONOMIC FACTORS AFFECTING NON-PERFORMING HOUSING LOANS OF THE 3RD CHIANG MAI REGION GOVERNMENT SAVINGS BANK

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to identify economic factors affecting non-performing housing loans of the 3rd Chiang Mai Region Government Savings Bank. Data used in the study were secondary data from January 2013 to December 2017, total of 60 months. There were 5 economic factors included in this study as follow : Quantity housing loans of the 3st Chiang Mai Region Government Savings Bank, Inflation Rate, Minimum Retail Rate (MRR), Consumer Price Index of Chiang Mai province and Unemployment rate in the Northern Thailand. The result of the studies were based on the analysis of economic factors using econometrix software to forecast the affect on non-performing housing loan of the 3st Chiang Mai Region Government Savings Bank.The analysis methods includes both descriptive and inferential statistics by multiple regressions analysis. The results suggest that.

Quantity housing loans of the 3rd Chiang Mai Region Government Savings Bank, Minimum Retail Rate, Inflation Rate is negatively correlated with quantity of non-performing housing loans of the 3rd Chiang Mai Region Government Savings Bank, Whereas Consumer Price Index of Chiang Mai province and Unemployment rate in the Northern Thailand are positively correlated with quantity of non-performing housing loans of the 3rd Chiang Mai Region Government Savings Bank at statistically significant at 0.05 level.
