Abstract

This experimental research aimed to 1) study technology competency for designing corrugated plastic work pieces after using stem learning process, and 2)study technology competency for creating corrugated plastic work pieces after using stem learning process, and 3) compare technology competency for designing and creating corrugated plastic work pieces after using stem learning process. By applying cluster random sampling, the sample group consisted of 30 Grade 5 students studying at a school in Pathum Thani in Semester 1/2018. The research instruments included 1) the instruments for the teaching experiment: four learning management plans, 2) the instruments for data collection: competency tests for designing and creating corrugated plastic work pieces. All instruments were validated by three experts with IOC results of 0.67-1.00 for the learning management plans and 0.70-0.96 for the competency tests respectively. The researcher collected the data by applying the learning management plans as well as pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test to compare the competency. The results revealed that 1) every student had higher competency score for designing corrugated plastic work pieces than the standard one; higher than 70.00 points or ranging from 70.00-100.00 points, 2) every student had higher competency score for creating corrugated plastic work pieces the standard one; higher than 70.00 out of 100.00 points or ranging from 73.00-100.00 points, and 3) every student had higher competency for designing and creating corrugated plastic work pieces after using stem learning process with statistical significance at 0.01
