FACTORS INFLUENCING AMOUNT OF DEPOSITS OF SPECIALIZED FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (SFIS)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the factors influencing the amount of deposits of Specialized Financial Institutions (SFIs). The factors which are used for statistically hypothesis test are Inflation, Gross Domestic Product, Consumer Price Index, Interest Rates of Commercial Banks and the amount of loans of Specialized Financial Institutions. The researchers collect data on a monthly basis from October 2012 to September 2017, 60 sets of data are processed to find relationships in the form of complex regression equation by utilizing statistics software. The study indicates that there are 2 factors influencing the amount of deposits of Specialized Financial Institutions: Interest Rates of commercial banks has relationship in the opposite direction with the amount of deposits of Specialized Financial Institutions. And the amount of loans of Specialized Financial Institutions has statistically significant correlation in the same direction with the amount of deposits of Specialized Financial Institutions at 95% degree of confidence. For Inflation Rate, Gross Domestic Product and the Consumer Price Index, they don’t have relationship and no significance to the amount of deposits of Specialized Financial Institutions.
