Abstract

The objective of this research is to study various perceptions and attitudes toward Design from stakeholders in contemporary design industry. This research will be used as contributing factors to create ‘A Design Platform between Clients and Designers that can benefit the context of Thailand’s design industry.

Studies have shown that ‘Design’ is one of humanity’s evolution that developed continually and endlessly through time. Varying degrees of perspectives and attitudes in design have led to obstacle among those involved in design process, creating gap between them especially clients and designers. This gap arises as a result of restricted interpretation, attitudes, experiences, expectations, taste or even different roles.  An opportunity for thought exchanging between clients and designers should lead to expansion of idea and deeper understanding as well as acceptant and empathy of one another.  Creating platform to exchange perspective on design will help encourage stakeholders in design industry to learn and understand differences and lessen the gap between them. Consequently, this will minimize obstacles and create harmony in working together.
