Factors Affecting the Decision to Buy Chemical Fertilizer of Rice Farmers in Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

This Independent study is objective for (1) To study demographic factor affecting the decision to buy chemical fertilizer of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province. (2) To study purchasing behavior of farmers affecting the decision to buy chemical fertilizer of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province and (3) to study marketing mix factor affecting the decision to buy chemical fertilizer of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province. The population used in the research is rice farmers in Pathum Thani province. The sampling by stratified sampling and simple random sampling. The researchers use the questionnaire as a tool to store data from a sample group. Number of 400 people data analysis uses descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and uses of the inferential statistics, including Independent Sample t-test F-test and multiple regression analysis.

The results found that:

1) Demographic factor of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province, which were age, education level And cultivating experience had different affect decision to buy chemical fertilizer of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province. It had statistical significance level of .05.

2) Behavioral factors for buying fertilizer of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province, which were amount of chemical fertilizer purchased per time, season, and the person who affecting to purchase chemical fertilizer had different affect decision to buy chemical fertilizer of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province. It had statistical significance level of .05.

                3) Marketing mix factors, which were product and place affecting the decision to buy chemical fertilizer of rice farmers in Pathum Thani province. It had statistical significance level of .05 and predictive power of 9.6%
