FACTORS AFFECTING STUDENTS’ DECISION TO STUDY IN THE CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC, RANGSIT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study the factors affecting the students’ decision making level in pursuing the Bachelor’s Degree at Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University. The research instruments consisted of the questionnaire distributed to a group of 59 freshmen studying in Bachelor of Music Program and Bachelor of Technology Program in Music Production in 2017 and open-ended questions as well as a focus group with 5 students and a semi-structured interview with an executive board member of Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University. The statistical analysis included mean, standard deviation and One-Way ANOVA. The results showed that the factors influencing the decision to study in the Bachelor’s Degree at Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University were the instructors followed by the image of the College, the management of the College, teaching and learning equipment and the curriculum respectively.
