Abstract

This study aimed to (1) establish a comparative analysis of the Trumpet Concerto in D major of Guiseppe Tartini's cadenza within the first and third movement from three artists and (2) compose a cadenza for the first and third cadenza from Trumpet Concerto in D major of Guiseppe Tartini. This research was divided into two parts:
(1) the comparative analysis of Trumpet Concerto in D major of Guiseppe Tartini's first and third cadenza movement and the result from composing the first and third cadenza from Trumpet Concerto in D major of Guiseppe Tartini. The researcher, first of all, conducted a comparative analysis of the first and third movement’s cadenza of the Trumpet Concerto in D major of Guiseppe Tartini among three different trumpet artists who used the same material, the arpeggio pattern, to compose the first cadenza movement as well as the same technique, the partial use of the melodies, and the same sequence in their compositions of the first movement, In addition, all three artists used the similar sequence, arpeggio, and triplet in cadenza third movement. Only Pacho Flores was found not to apply the melody from the concerto to his own cadenza. The researcher applied the result of the comparative analysis to the composition of a cadenza with arpeggio, sequence, chromatic notes, and partial use of the melodies.
