ECONOMIC FACTORS AFFECTING DEPOSIT INTEREST RATES AND MLR RATES OF GOVERNMENT SAVINGS BANK

Abstract

The objective of this Research was to study the factors that affect the interest rate of saving deposit and Minimum Lending Rate (MLR) of Government Savings Bank. The variables for the statistical Contains: Inflation (INF), Policy Rate (POL), Exchange Rate (BAHT), Consumer Price Index (CPI), and Private Investment Index (PII). These data used in the study were monthly secondary during December 2012 and November 2017. The data was processing to analyze by statistical program. In this independent study, we adjust the variables into Stationary; Result test found the factors affect to changes in interest rate of Savings of Government Savings Bank, the results being at a statistically significant level and with a reliability of 95 percent. This factors was Consumer Price Index variables was positive relationship, but variables of Inflation, Policy Rate and PII are no statistical significance and no relationship. While, Inflation and Policy Rate variables were positive relationship with MLR of Government Savings Bank, the results being at a statistically significant level and with a reliability of 95 percent. But CPI and PII are no statistical significance and no relationship.
