People’S Attitude Towards Political Leadership of General Prayut Chan-O-Cha Prime Minister : A Case Study of Ratchaburi Municipality

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) investigate public attitudes towards the political leadership of Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha and 2) compare demographic factors affecting the public attitudes. This quantitative research was conducted by collecting data from 400 samples who lived in the area under the supervision of Ratchaburi Municipality.

The result revealed that the public attitudes towards the Prime Minister’s political leadership was low  (bar{X}= 2.24). Inspirational motivation displayed the highest mean (bar{X}= 2.45), followed by idealized influence (bar{X}= 2.11) and intelligence stimulation (bar{X}= 2.07), respectively.

According to the result of the hypothesis testing, idealized influence, inspirational motivation, and intelligence simulation varied according to age, education level, occupation, and monthly income. Gender did not affect the public attitudes with a significance level of 0.05.
