THE RELATIONSHIP OF NON-FINANCIAL INCENTIVES TO JOB SATISFACTION FOR GENERATION-Y AND GENERATION-X EMPLOYEES IN CASE STUDY RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT IN A PRIVATE HOSPITAL

Abstract

          This study aims to study the level of opinion about non-financial incentives, overall job satisfaction score and the relationship of non-financial incentives to job satisfaction for generation Y and generation X staffs. The sample consisted of 168 radiology staffs of a private hospital. The results showed that the major responders who replied the questionnaires were female in generation Y and X, more than 10 years of service, clinical staff and more than 30,000 Baht average monthly income. The sample agreed with the non-financial incentives at the average level and mean score was 3.32. The mean score of job satisfaction is 3.29 at the average level. Data analyzing with t-Test and the hypothesis testing with multiple linear regression analysis at significant implication level of .05 showed that the mean score of the non-financial incentives and the overall job satisfaction of generation Y are not different from generation X. The non-financial incentives that are positively correlated with overall job satisfaction for generation-Y are working conditions, career opportunities and relationships with colleagues and teamwork, for generation-X are relationship with colleagues and teamwork and communication.
