JOB COMPETENCE AFFECTING PERFORMANCE EFFICIENCY OF MILITARY PERSONNEL

A CASE STUDY OF PERSONNEL IN ARMED FORCES DEVELOPMENT COMMAND HEADQUARTERS, ROYAL THAI ARMED FORCES

Abstract

The purpose of this independent study aims to study about 1) to study personal factors that affecting performance efficiency of military personnel: a case study of personnel in Armed Forces Development Command headquarters, Royal Thai Armed Forces. And 2) to study operational competence that affecting performance efficiency of military personnel: a case study of personnel in Armed Forces Development Command headquarters, Royal Thai Armed Forces. Studying from Military officer, personnel in Armed Forces Development Command headquarters, Royal Thai Armed Forces of 250 people. The sample size was calculated using Taro Yamane's formula at 95% confidence level, a 5% sampling tolerance, and using a random sampling method. The evaluation questionnaire will be analyzed by statistical program, which had been collecting the data by Frequency, Percentage, Average, Standard Deviation, One-Way ANOVA, and Multiple Regression analysis.

The results of this research found that most of the respondents were male, aged 31-40 years, graduated with a bachelor's degree, at the rank of commissioned officer and service age 1 - 10 years. The results of the hypothesis testing indicated that 1) personal factors of the sample group that most affecting performance efficiency of military personnel: a case study of personnel in Armed Forces Development Command headquarters, Royal Thai Armed Forces is education level statistically significant at a level of 0.05. For gender, age, position level, and age of government service do not affect. And 2) performance factors that most affecting performance efficiency of military personnel: a case study of personnel in Armed Forces Development Command headquarters, Royal Thai Armed Forces is ethics, followed by attitude, professional skills and the least is the professional value statistically significant at a level of 0.05. For professional knowledge does not affect with a forecasting power of 73.4%
